3 Things Every Believer Must Know When in the “FIRE”

Good morning!

In this life, it is a guarantee that at some point or another, we will go through trials and afflictions. And as I was reading in Daniel Chapter 3, the Holy Spirit impressed upon me the fact that though we may go through the “fire” there are some truths that every believer MUST know and hold onto even while in the fire.

1) You are not alone – God is with you. He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you.

2) God has already rendered the “fire” powerless to destroy you. – The very thing that was meant to destroy you, simply b/c the Lord is with you, He has already declared that your “fire” does not have the power to destroy you.

3) You are coming out of your firery furnace! – Know that because God is with you and the “fire” doesn’t have the power to destroy you, that YOU ARE COMING OUT! At the appointed time, God is going to bring you out… Not only will He bring you out, He will bring you out and you won’t even look like all that you have been through. He will bring you out in front of a crowd, so that you can be a witness to others of God’s GREAT love for His children as well as His miraculous keeping power!

Be encouraged to know that God loves you and because of His GREAT love He’s got you!

An Assurance of Victory

Happy October!

No matter what it looks like or even feels like right now, you have an ASSURANCE of VICTORY!

How can I be so sure without even knowing the details of your situation? Well for starters, scripture tells us that we have an Assurance of VICTORY! See the thing is, even when life brings situations our way that cause us to feel less than victorious, we must remember that we can’t trust our feelings because they are fickle. Our feelings change based on our circumstances. Instead we have to rely on what we know… We have to rely on the truth of God’s WORD.

I just want to remind you to always know that even in the face of trials, adversity and what may seem to be eminent defeat, the Bible declares that we have an Assurance of Victory!! We have an assurance of Victory because God is for us, God loves us and ultimately because of Christ’s victory at Calvary!

Let’s look at this a little closer…

1) We have an assurance of victory because God is for us! (Rom 8:31) – Ladies, the fight is not even a fair fight because the fight is slanted in our favor. Since God is for us, this means that the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is on our side. The One who knows all and sees all is on our side. The One who is GREATER than everything and everyone is on our side. When opposition comes our way, it is the Lord who is navigating our path around the snares and pitfalls of the enemy. It is God who is intercepting the darts meant for our destruction and re-purposing them for our good! We have an assurance of victory because the Lord is for us and fighting for us.

2) Secondly, we have an assurance of victory because God loves us! As a demonstration of his love, God gave us the very best He had. (Rom 8:32) God gave us his only beloved Son, Jesus Christ. When we were still enemies of God (Rom 5:10, Col 1:21), He was demonstrating His love for us. His willingness to give us His best, even when we weren’t even thinking about living for Him, indicates to us that there is nothing that He wouldn’t do for us. This shows us that God’s love for us is not based on our ability or even willingness to love Him back. His love for us is unconditional and there is absolutely nothing that can separate us from His love!

3) Lastly, we have an assurance of victory in all that we face because Christ defeated sin at Calvary! We have an assurance of victory because the devil is a defeated foe! (1Cor 15:55-57) Ultimately God prevails and the devil looses. The devil is well aware of this so he does everything that he can to cause us to forget this. But we must never forget that because of Christ we have been redeemed and restored back to Him. (Salvation) Because of Christ, we are now the sons (daughters) of God. (Identification) Because of what Christ did at Calvary we are no longer be defenseless against the schemes and wiles of the enemy. When we accept Jesus Christ as Saviour, we are also filled with the fullness of His authority and power by way of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. (Empowerment & Authorization) We must know that He (Holy Spirit) that resides inside of each of us is GREATER than anything that we shall come up against in this world! (1 John 4:4)

Who are you?

We often hear that it’s important to know who we are and whose we are. So today, I challenge us and ask, do you know who you are? I mean really who are you? Not what you do, but who are you? Who is it that the Word of God declares that you are?

Why is this so important? Well in order to truly embrace and walk in your God ordained purpose, you must first know who God declares that you are. See the enemy knows who you are, but he is determined to do everything in his power to hinder you from knowing who you are. He’s trying his best to derail you and distract you because he knows that once you truly understand who you are in Christ, that you become dangerous because you become a threat to the kingdom of darkness!! See, once you truly embrace who you are then you will also begin to understand your purpose.

If we know nothing else, we must know that we are God’s creations and He loved us so much that He sent His only Son to die for us. He created each and every one of us on purpose, with purpose and for a purpose. He created you to bring Him GLORY!

But remember, we each have a very real enemy who will go to great lengths to keep you from embracing the TRUTH about who you are in Christ. One of his greatest lies is that you don’t have worth and that you aren’t important. The devil comes but to kill, steal and destroy and he wants to convince you that you are defeated, but the TRUTH of God’s Word declares that YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR!

Don’t fall prey to the lies of the enemy. God’s Word declares the TRUTH of who we are in Him. Use God’s Word to combat the lies of the enemy. Saturate yourself with the TRUTH of God’s Word and pray and ask God to help you believe everything that HE has declared about you. Speak the TRUTHS of who God declares you are over yourself daily and trust God to help you embrace them as TRUTH for your life.

To help you get started, I’ve listed below just a few of the things that God declares about us in His Word.

Take Jesus at His Word…

I want to encourage you this morning to take Jesus at his word… literally!  Sometimes we hear God speaking and because we aren’t able to make sense of that which God is saying, we don’t grab hold to it in faith.

Jesus’ disciples were guilty of this very same thing.  See the Bible tells us that Jesus told his disciples of his pending death and resurrection.   He told them that that the Son of man is delivered into the hands of men and they shall kill him and after he is killed, He shall rise on the third day.  Now Jesus couldn’t have made it any clearer than that as to what was to happen to him, but yet his words were so foreign/abstract to their human minds that they couldn’t understand it.  They tried to rationalize and make sense of what He was saying. See it was hard for them to believe that he would literally be killed b/c He was to be the one who was to save them.  Furthermore to say that He shall rise on the 3rd day, if He got killed what did He mean by saying He would rise?  How would that be possible?  And then three days later at that!

It was hard for them to believe because they couldn’t make sense of it in their own mind.  How often do we find ourselves in that same position with the Lord?  He says a thing and because it doesn’t make sense to us, or we are unable to rationalize how it could be true or come to pass, so we either don’t believe or believe half heartedly.  But yet that which He told his disciples is EXACTLY that which came to pass!!

So ladies,  what is the Lord saying to you this morning? Even though it might not make sense to you,  I encourage you to take Him at His word literally!!  Know that it doesn’t have to make sense to you,  in order for it to be possible for God!!!  Take Him at His word and watch Him do EXACTLY as He said!!!
